Here at G3 Industries, we are delighted to offer our customers 3D laser capabilities. Befitting of its name—the Space Gear 510Mkll from Mazak Optonics—our 3D laser has served to expand our shop’s horizons and lift ourselves above the competition.

The laser center features a compact cutting head that rotates 360 degrees in the A-axis and 135 degrees in the B-axis. This movement and tilting in various directions ensure the laser always cuts at the best angle, even on surfaces of complex shapes that are not flat. Additionally, the X-axis has a working stroke of 16.5” off the table.

Our 3D laser team can fabricate critical features on parts after they have been formed or welded. We are also able to engineer features into existing shapes like tubes, pipes, and structural shapes. These are all processed using our CNC rotary chuck and supports for long workpieces.

The 3D laser is a great source for low-to-medium volume tube laser work. Six axes of continuous CNC control allow for cut weld preps, angled features, and more—all in a single setup. Such throughput and flexibility simply cannot be matched by a three-axis laser.

Backed with the SigmaNEST software suite and Mazak’s SPACECAM 3D CAM system, the 3D laser at G3 Industries has nearly unlimited versatility in programming. We’d love to discuss and demonstrate these capabilities with you—let’s chat today!
